The Vall de Gallinera has something captivating about it; some of us even think that if paradise exists... it looks a lot like this place.
The valley, dotted with small villages, winds its way through beautiful mountains following the course of the Gallinera River, which flows into the beaches of Oliva. The 8 villages you can find around are: Benirrama, Benialí, Benissivà, Benitaia, La Carroja, Llombai, Benissili, and Patró (where the house is located). From hiking or biking routes through the mountains to getting lost in the wonderful streets of the numerous surrounding villages. If you're a lover of authenticity and nature, we assure you that you will enjoy every moment.
There are many reasons to fall in love with Vall de Gallinera, and when you're here, you'll discover many more 😉
The Vall de Gallinera is a place where the Mediterranean is deeply felt.
We're talking about geraniums in the windows, white villages, cherry and orange fields, in a way of life aligned with nature.
And of course, recipes made with cherries, which are the star product of the valley.
The Vall enjoys a fantastic location and exceptional climate with over 300 days of sunshine per year.
This is wonderful both for taking beautiful excursions to different places along the coast and for hiking along the numerous trails and natural sites within the Valley.
If you enjoy photography, we recommend visiting the Vall de Gallinera in spring or autumn. If cherry blossoms are beautiful, just wait until you see the intense red color of the cherry trees in autumn – it's something spectacular!
Although the most important thing is that all the options in La Vall de Gallinera will take you through environments of great ecological quality and beautiful landscapes.
As if that weren't enough, within a 30km radius around the valley, there are three natural parks you can visit.
The Sierra Mariola Natural Park, the Font Roja Natural Park, and the Marjal Pego-Oliva Natural Park, as well as some of the best beaches on the Valencian coast...
In the Sierra Mariola, you can go on excursions on foot, horseback, or by bike. There are marked trails through which travelers can admire some interesting constructions such as hermitages, paintings, archaeological sites (mainly from the Neolithic, Bronze Age, and Iberian periods), castles, and farmhouses.
They will also discover natural landscapes of singular beauty such as the source of the Vinalopó River, the summit of Montcabrer (1,390m), the Font de Mariola, or the Cave of La Sarsa.
Pou Clar is the most important river area in the municipality and hosts significant natural and scenic values.
The Clariano River originates there, and in its first meters, it forms a series of pools excavated by water on limestone rock, creating a rather unique landscape of rounded shapes and tranquil sheets of water.
The strong connection of this area with the local population has led to each pool having a name; from top to bottom, they are called "Pou dels Esclaus," "Pou Clar," "Pou Gelat," "Pou de la Reixa," "Pou Fosc," and "Pou dels Cavalls.
Only a 12-minute drive from the house is el Barranco de la Encantada in Planes. A village located in the Comptat region, north of Alicante.
The village, with its narrow and steep streets, rises around the remains of a Muslim fortress. In its surroundings lies the Enchanted Ravine, which flows through a beautiful environment, forming waterfalls like the Gorg del Salt and pools or 'tolls' in the narrowest area.
And what can we say about the food!
Throughout the valley, you'll find many places to eat well. We'll show you some on the next page...
So that you always want to come back and visit La Vall de Gallinera... 😉
